in the summer, so she has decided to cut it off- ALL OF IT!! Apryl does the

Our story starts out on Sunday morning at 5 a.m. The rest of the
world is sleeping in.
I'm dreaming of a gorgeous young woman who is about to shave her head.
She's tall as a statue, voluptuous, has a great smile and is ready to be

Sitting uright for more than 5 minutes was impossible last week.
This week I sit upright for almost an entire hour, editing Maria's headshave
video. Sunday is shaping up to be a very good day indeed.

Over the course of the day, I did 7 hours of video editing, and
much to my surprise, had nearly completed the video.
On Monday, I was able to complete the video, and am very pleased and
proud of the result.

The first 10 minutes might be the best video we've ever made (with
the help of narcotic medication). The extensive use of the "split screen"
during the BEFORE, DURING and AFTER segments are among the most exciting
images we've ever seen in this amazing LONG TO SHAVED haircut, ala "Gone
in 60 Seconds," with a memorable performance by Apryl, who gives Maria her
haircut with speed and great skill. This is a "MUST SEE" for the serious

BEST DAY EVER!!
Before we get to the news of our NEW RELEASE, I want to share some wonderful
personal news with everyone. For the past 5 months, I have suffered from
back pain 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. I would wish this ordeal on no one,
and will not go into further description of the agony this has caused me,
Apryl, the kids and our friends who are used to having a happy, jovial Dad
and instead have had someone more akin to an 85 year old cripple to deal
with day after day for all these months.
Now the GOOD NEWS- Yesterday I had surgery on my back, and woke up today
PAIN FREE for the first time in many months, making today just about the
BEST DAY EVER!!
Needless to say, everyone in the family is happy to have the "HAPPY
OLD DAD" back, and we all are looking forward to a full recovery over the
coming weeks.
We are also looking forward to returning to a more normal video production
schedule, as my back problems have caused a big slowdown in video production.
We're looking forward to making up for lost time.

It's good to hear from you!!
I had a herniated disc, and the surgery has already relieved most of
the pain, so I am feeling much better today than before the operation.
I will give Apryl a strong hug from you!! Curly |

Dear Curly, Yes, the disk hernias can cause many problems, pain
and restriction in the mobility, and other things... Do I imagine that their
disk hernia was in the low part of the back, in the lumbar area (L5-S1?),
that it is a very frequent area of alterations. When the doctor decides to
intervene surgically it is because the hernia already begins to be "dangerous"
and it can cause other more important problems.
I am happy a lot that everything has gone well. Have patience with the
rehabilitation that is a little slow, and don't make any type of effort so
that any alteration doesn't take place in the operated area. It is very important
also, when everything has spent in some months, to change the form to catch
the objects, to bend over, etc. But everything it will tell it to him their
rehabilitative doctor and the physiotherapist. If you have some doubt more,
it can wonder (I also know some this type of alterations). Be not in a hurry,
it is very important to have patience and to leave "time to heal."

Dear Basili,
L4 was herniated, causing sciatica down my left leg. As soon as the
surgery was complete, all the problems with the leg, hip and knee have
disappeared. I still have post-op pain in the back, but that should be less
each day.
The doctor is a neurological surgeon who did the operation with a
microscope- quite amazing!! I knew immediately that the operation was a
success.
As for Cheering Up, no problem there- it is like I have been delivered
from a living hell. |

My schedule is no driving for two weeks, then strength training
and driving can begin. The doctor says I'll be playing golf in 6 weeks (from
his mouth to God's ears). As for video camera work, the doctor says I can
start in two weeks.
In the meantime, he wants me to walk a lot and I have walked 1/2 mile
each evening with Apryl and the dogs after dinner. My walking is now like
a soldier- very strong- two days ago I was walking like an 85 year old
man.
The last time I was in the hospital was 33 years ago- I hope I'm good
now for another 33 years!!

Sheila has never had a short haircut, but has wondered for years
how she would look with a shaved head. Today she's going to find out.

After 26 years of marriage, we still have fun every day we are together,
and we're looking forward to a lot more time together with Apryl's retirement.

Four days after flying her last trip, Apryl surprised me by saying
"Set up the studio. I want my hair cut."
"How short?" I asked her.
"Number 2 all over," she said.
I was pleasantly surprised, gave her a whopper of a kiss, and got the
studio ready.

We shot "Before" footage in several bathing suits, as well as dresses
and other outfits.
Then Apryl calmly sat in the chair, wearing the white bathing suit,
and said "Let's do it."

The moments that followed were among the most blissful of my life,
clipping Apryl's hair down to less than 1/4" all over. Apryl looks great

During the haircut, Emily explains that when she was 7 or 8 years
old, she wanted to cut her hair. Then she enrolled as a dance student, focusing
mostly on ballet dancing, and was "not allowed" to cut her hair, since ballet
dancers are required to wear their hair in a bun for performances. |

This went on for years, as her hair got longer and longer. Emily
was required to keep her hair long despite her deep longing to have short
hair. Finally, in her senior year of high school she had had enough. She
quit the ballet troop, and the same day went to a beauty salon and asked
to have her head shaved. The stylist refused to shave her head, but DID cut
her waist length hair short- down to about 3 inches long.
Later that day, Emily went into the bathroom and clipped off the rest
of her hair and shaved her head smooth with a razor. |

Her parents, while somewhat freaked out, weren't exactly surprised,
because Emily had been talking about shaving her head since she was a little
girl. Emily kept her head shaved for the rest of the school year and all
that summer before growing it out during her freshman year in college. Now
she's decided, as a college senior, to go back to the shaved look and to

ask if I could post more pictures of Yvette the Barberrette. |

My response was "I'll see what I can do," which doesn't sound like
much of a promise, but I certainly meant that I would do it as soon as I

It turned out that it took a LONG TIME before I had the energy to

cut to chin length on the same day as Monica's appointment. When Monica arrived,
we were in the middle of Kelli's haircut. They talked about Monica's decision,
and that Monica wanted to "feel free" of her hair. When Kelli's hair is cut
to chin length, it's time for Monica's haircut. Kelli asks if she can stay
and watch. Monica smiles, and says, "Of course!" Monica goes through her
headshave with great enthusiasm- so much that it's contagious. The next thing
we know, when Monica's haircut is done, Kelli gets in the chair and says
"Shave me now." Can one woman really make a difference? More than you'll
ever know!! |
