Melinda is getting two haircuts today- first, a military flat top,
high and tight with a nice landing strip on top. Second, a nice smooth headshave.
She even insisted on being shaved twice because we didn't get her "smooth
enough" the first time.
While shooting the "before" footage, Melinda tells us that when she
was in high school, the entire swim team- 60 girls- vowed to shave their
heads if they made it to the State Championship. They came close, but didn't
make it to State- they missed it by hundredths of a second!! (Insert appropriate
expletive here)

It's been six years since Melinda graduated form high school, and
she hasn't ever stopped thinking about "what would have happenned if we had
made it to State."

"The other girls were scared to shave their heads," she says, "But
I was excited. I really wanted to do it, and I wanted to see all the other
girls get shaved too."

Melinda is a legal secretary, and recently changed firms. "At the
new firm, there's a black girl, Cynthia, who has been shaving her head for
the last 5 years, and is absolutely gorgeous! I asked my boss if it was ok
to shave my head, and he said it was a great idea." (We wonder if Melinda's
boss is a "regular" here at haircut.net). |

Melinda was very nervous and excited when we cut her hair. The military
flat top looked great, but she insisted on "going all the way."
She is stunning with her shaved head. She promised to show off her haircut
to some of her old friends from the swim team, so we're hoping more members
of the swim team will shave their heads.
