KATIE GETS A PIXIE

Katie came to our studio intending to shave her head. In fact, we
had two models scheduled to shave their heads the same evening- Katie and
Rosemary.
After Katie arrived, she asked if it was okay if she chickened out.
"It's ok if you want to chicken out," we said, "We want you to be happy
with your decision, and if there's any doubt in your mind, then you shouldn't
do it."
She said she still wanted to cut her hair short, but was too nervous
about going "all the way" to shaved. |

We then did the "Before" footage with Rosemary, and Katie started looking
through the books of hairstyles. One picture- a short pixie- grabbed her
and wouldn't let go.
"THIS IS WHAT I WANT" she said.
We agreed that she would look great in a short pixie, and so it was
decided. |

In the meantime, Rosemary was in the chair ready for her headshave,
and we asked Katie if she'd like to do the honors.
She reluctantly agreed, saying she'd never cut anyone's hair before.
We assured her a 4 year old could not mess up this haircut, and she did a
very nice job on Rosemary, and toward the end got pretty enthusiastic about
her work, making sure not to miss any of Rosemary's hair. After Rosemary's
haircut, Katie was pretty excited, and we asked if she wanted to do her own
hairut.
This time, without a bit of reluctance, she agreed. |

Now comes one of the most dramatic moments in the history of the
Hair Enthusiasts- Katie picks up a big piece of her hair, stares at it for
a moment, then lifts up the scissors, opens the jaws around her hair and
starts cutting it!! |
 |
She smiles as the first big piece comes off. She wacks off long
piece after long piece- perhaps the most exciting self- cut we've ever seen.
Surprisingly, the haircut she gives herself is pretty good, especially
considering that she has no experience. |
 |
Katie wants her hair just like the picture, and we use the clipper
over comb techinque to clip off Katie's hair, down to less than an inch on
the side and back and to just over an inch on top. Katie looks great in her
super short pixie, and we think you'll love this video!!

MEET LAURA

For those who were around when we first opened our studio, you'll
recognize Lovely Laura, a professional model from Chicago.
She's about to get the first haircut ever in our studio. The studio
has seen countless makeovers since then, both to the models and to the studio
itself. We thought it appropriate to put Laura's haircut on this video to
show how far we've come, and also that there's a special place in our hearts
for all the models who've come to our studio for haircuts. |

Laura came to us wanting a "DRAMATIC" makeover- buzzed to 1/4" in
the back and sides, and then clipped to 1" long on top.
It's a super short haircut, and just what the doctor ordered for the
dog days of summer.
Laura's modeling experience shows as she poses for "Before"
pictures.
