READY FOR A BUZZ CUT When we asked for volunteers to get the first haircut, Shelley jumped in the chair and yelled, "Me first!" Shelley has been modelling professionally for several years. She opts for a clipper cut with short, choppy bangs. It's also important that her new look be very professional, as Shelley works as a legal secretary as her "main job." We assure her that a buzz-cut to 3/4" would give her easy maintenance and a very modern sexy professional look. Shelley looks a bit skeptical as big clumps of hair come tumbling down on her shoulders. . Stop for a minute and just look at this picture. Next to go are the bangs... Almost done... "It feels so short!" We leave the back "soft" at the edges... . Shelley takes a log skeptical look in the mirror. "Is it really me?" As good as this haircut looks from the front, it's an equally awesome attention-getter from behind. Notice how finished and professional, as well as soft and sexy, the look turned out to be. Shelley's still trying to get used to it. She keeps staring at this short haired stranger in the mirror. We snip a soft line into the nape of Shelley's neck. Shelley is starting to like her new haircut. She looks it over from every angle, runs her fingers through it, and starts liking it even more. The haircut really shows off Shelley's eyes and smile. She has a lovely nape, and the haircut really shows that off. Even Shelley's jewelry looks better with a short haircut. Bravo to Shelley who took this "short cut" to success!! THANKS AGAIN!! Here are the "thank you's" we wrote the day after this event: As you can imagine, this was one wild and wonderful weekend. Before I talk about the events, there are some very special people to thank. To our modeling agent Ray, "Great Job!" To our Makeup Artist and Stylist Cathy, thanks for the hard work and great artistry both on makeup and hairstyles. To our photographer Rod, it was great working with you. Thanks to Natasha and Leslie for staying and helping us clean up the salon. You two were great! And to all the great models, thank you for being so wonderful!! We did a lot of makeovers in one day. We started at 9:30 in the morning and finished at 6:00pm. My favorite part of the event, aside from meeting these wonderful young women, was the professional photo sessions we had with each model, both before and after their makeovers. I have always felt we need to showcase the beauty of the short haircut in great "after" shots. Seeing these young women showing off their new haircuts and posing for the photographer was a lot of fun. I must note that it was weird having my hair cut by an army of women. The shot was planned as simply having the girls stand around me with clippers and scissors poised, but not to cut my hair. Somehow, these conspiratorial young women decided that wasn't good enough, and before I knew it, one of them plowed the clippers over the top of my head. The next thing I knew, they were all getting in the act, and in minutes all my hair was buzzed off. My only consolation was that no man alive has ever been shorn by such a beautiful mob of barberettes. WHO ELSE GOT THEIR HAIR CUT?
